👻 Getting set up for tonights spooky screen free fun 🎃 - a sneak peek on some of the activities -

👻 Getting set up for tonights spooky screen free fun 🎃 - a sneak peek on some of the activities -

Our very first Totally Toddler Day was SO much fun! 💛 Toddlers are my absolute favorite age to plan for, and while it was hard to fit everything into one day, we packed in so much hands-on learning (and yes… we stayed messy! ).

🐷 Farm-themed oobleck sensory play, measuring animals with math cubes, and herding balloon sheep back into their pens.

🎨 Press Here inspired us to explore primary and secondary colors by mixing paint with our hands—because the best learning is messy!

💙 After reading “I’m NOT Just a Scribble”, we talked about emotions and celebrated our uniqueness by creating our own scribble art.

🏰 We built castles using shaving cream “cement” and practiced prepositions with teddy bears—on, under, behind, inside, and more!
The kids pretending the shaving cream was whipped cream so we grabbed our cool whip and made an impromptu game !
🫖 We wrapped up the day with “Bee makes tea”, exploring different teas through smell, touch, and tea painting to engage all of our senses.

Learning through play, getting messy, and watching these little minds explore the world is exactly why I love this age so much. Already looking forward to the next Totally Toddler Day! ✨🤎

Spring 2026 Camp Recap

Today our little scientists explored spring through hands-on STEAM play!

🌼 Pollen Catapult – Built catapults, tested distance, and made design changes while measuring with tape measures (force, energy & engineering).

🥚 Egg Toss + Egg Drop-We tested gravity, momentum, and impact protection. Only 2 eggs survived our egg drop, proving that designing for force absorption takes some serious problem solving!

🦋 Symmetry in Nature – Painted one side of a butterfly and folded to reveal natural symmetry.

🌼 Pollination Play – Using yellow cornstarch as “pollen,” kids experienced how pollen transfers between flowers and learned how essential pollinators like bees, butterflies, birds, and even bats are for plants and food systems.
☁️ Rain Cycle Experiment – Shaving cream clouds over water with colored droppers showed how clouds fill up and release rain (absorption, density & the water cycle).
🍿 Butterfly Popcorn Snack with edible ✨ glitter

🧽 Sponge Dodgeball - A high-energy way to end the day while exploring motion, reaction time, and teamwork.

Today was all about discovering how animals survive winter—and we did it the hands-on way!

We started by getting a little messy (on purpose!) using Crisco to show how blubber works as insulation, energy storage, and buoyancy 🧈❄️. Then we colored penguins extra densely with crayons and used droppers to watch water slide right off—just like oils and waxy feathers in real life 🐧💧.

Next up: physical adaptations! We padded winter animals with Play-Doh to add more “fat and fur,” then painted them white to show camouflage in snowy environments 🐾🎨.

After reading Over and Under the Snow, we used fake snow to build habitats for animals that live over, under, and on top of the snow—followed by some sensory play that may have gotten a little out of hand ❄️😅.

We talked about animals that migrate, made a craft showing why birds fly in a V formation, and then fueled up by building bear dens with graham crackers, mini marshmallows, toothpicks, and gummy bears 🐻🍬.

With all that energy, we wrapped up with penguin waddle relays and a snowball fight before heading home tired, happy, and full of winter knowledge ☃️💙

✨Mini Thanksgiving Camp with a heart full of grateful for my sweet campers✨
We started by creating snack turkeys with gloves, popcorn, marshmallows, and M&Ms (and enjoyed them while reading The Humble Pie). Then each child made their own mini pie and practiced “using their voice” just like in the story—responding to little scenarios with confidence and kindness.
After a lively read-aloud of Run Turkey Run, we crafted custom turkey tails and played our own silly, high-energy version of the game. We even picked fresh oranges and used fine-motor skills to push cloves into the peels—beautiful patterns and calming scents! 🍊
We wrapped up the day with giggles and whipped-cream chaos playing “Pie in the Face.” The sweetest ending to a thankful day! 🥧💛
